We dance

little gestures
ambiguously made
lines read in between

Words that can be read
however we want to read them
but the meaning is clear

we dance
Public displays of affection
from thousands of miles away

having never met
we still dance
an ancient form of courtship

wrought bizarre
by social media
and too many untouched words

but you know
don’t you?
that I want to touch you

take you
eyes locked to eyes
slowly circling

arms  entwining
pretzeling up
curled and wrapped around each other

to feel
these untouched words
in a dance we cannot dance
