I usually see her sitting on a stoop

Some day
I will stop
see if I can sit with her

I’ve always wanted to chat
but
she seems so contemplative
not withdrawn
just lost in her own musings

we sat on the stoop
as children
listening to the neighbors talk

all the world
going by slowly
as we’d catch up on the day
social media by firefly light

her stoop seems more intimate
a sit down and stay awhile
perhaps I hesitate out of fear
